Priya Pennathur is a faculty in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at University of Iowa.  She received a doctoral degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from University at Buffalo in 2010. She was a post-doctoral research fellow at Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her research interests are in understanding cognitive artifacts and how humans create and use information in complex work systems. She is a faculty associate at the National Center for Human Factors Engineering in Healthcare.
