Hamed P. Salehi is a PhD student of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Iowa. He is also the vice president of HFES student chapter at the University of Iowa. His research focuses on cognitive aspects of troubleshooting, new technologies in healthcare, the use of infection protection equipment and Aviation safety.

In addition to his thesis research, he has done projects on manufacturing and supply chain management, project management, head-mounted displays in aviation, use of UAV for commercial purpose, UAV flight stability control, non-destructive tests, entrepreneurship and foreign investment.

He has received his bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering from the K.N. Toosi university of Technology. His Bachelor’s thesis is on Turbofan aircraft engine malfunctions. He worked for a Siemens power generation subsidiary as an Aerospace Engineer and worked for FABEST Co. as a Manufacturing Engineer and project manager.

He attained a Master’s degree in Engineering and Management of Manufacturing Systems from Cranfield university. His Master’s research focused on understanding reasons of ceramic-blade cracks in collaboration with Ross Ceramics co., a subsidiary of the Rolls Royce company.
